Guam Options for Alternative Loans for Assistive Technology (GOAL-AT) a. financial loan at 2.125% interest to help consumers pay for assistive technology b. 0 loan applications 2. Get Guam Teleworking Loan Program (GGT) a. financial loan at 2.125% interest to help consumers purchase equipment to become self-employed b. 0 loan applications B. Device Reutilization 1. Recycling/ refurbishment/ repair/ exchange/ open ended loan activities 2. 5 activities (total savings: $768), open ended loan: 2 walkers; received donation for a ramp and 2 walkers C. Device 30 Day Library 1. A person may borrow an AT device for a 30-day period to assist in decision making, to serve as a loaner while waiting for device repair or funding, or to provide an accommodation on a short-term basis or for other purposes 2. 10 short-term device loans given D. Device Demonstrations 1. Compare the features and benefits of a particular AT device or category of devices for an individual or small group of individuals to enable an individual to make an informed choice 2. 12 device demonstrations conducted E. Information & Assistance 1. Response to requests for information and/or puts individuals in contact with other agencies that can provide them with needed information; individual assistance on AT/disability-related topics 2. GSAT responded to 35 requests for information and/or assistance F. Technical Assistance 1. Direct problem-solving service to assist programs and agencies in improving their services, management, policies, and/or outcomes 2. 0 activity G. Public Awareness 1. Activities designed to provide information about AT to large numbers of people. Disseminated 25 Akudi Loan Brochures. * Community College Students, IN145 Vocabulary Development Class. 11 students were reached * Catholic Social Service - Community Habilitation Program, 8 individuals were reached * On March 16, 2018 the National Association of Social Work held their conference. The AT Center Coordinator did a presentation on Promoting Access: Assistive Technology and Accessible Digital Media. GSAT had also a tabletop display where it reached 14 individuals. * The 24th Annual GSAT Fair was held on March 24, 2018, with a focus on the theme: Assistive Technology Breaking Barriers to Accessibility and Independence. 50 people participated overall in the Fair * “Introduction to Exceptional Individuals” Course at the University of Guam. 8 students reached 2. 66 people reached H. Training 1. Instructional events designed to increase participants’ knowledge, skills, and competencies regarding AT. 2. 2 training – “24th Annual GSAT Assistive Technology Conference:”, reached 135 individuals and “Assistive Technology 101 and Creating Accessible Documents,” 27 people reached. Total: 162
