November 20, 2017 By Guam CEDDERS

The ClassMate Reader audio book player is a voice output electronic text reader designed for use by individuals with learning disabilities or low vision. This unit reads electronic text and digital recorded books aloud and simultaneously displays text on its color screen. The user can highlight text and enter bookmarks by touching the screen. The user also can record text or voice notes within the text, and transfer them to a computer through a USB 2.0 port. It also can store and retrieve data from USB flash drives through the USB port, and two USB cables are included. The ClassMate Reader features a speaking dictionary containing more than 25,000 words, and it provides spelling, pronunciation and definitions. The built-in text-to-speech (TTS) engine uses Nuance Vocalizer with two female voices and one male voice. It can play digital files in a variety of formats, including DAISY 2.x, DAISY NISO, NIMAS, MP3 WAV, ogg Vorbis, unprotected WMA, txt, RTF, HTML, and XML.
