BIGtrack Trackball

April 18, 2017 By Guam CEDDERS

The BIGtrack has a 3 inch trackball which makes it the largest trackball available. The BIGtrack is a valuable tool for users who lack fine motor skills which a regular mouse requires. For example, if you have arthritis an ordinary mouse can be difficult to hold and keep the cursor in position whilst you click. The BIGtrack allows you to settle the cursor in position and then click easily without moving the cursor inadvertently. It has a left and a right mouse click button located behind the trackball to avoid unwanted mouse clicks. The BIGtrack also allows for 2nd Mouse Connection both the BIGtrack and a second mouse can be connected allowing simultaneous participation. For even more access the BIGtrack is available in a switch adapted version. The switch adapted BIGtrack comes with two standard 1/8″ plugs for two switches. Its left and right mouse clicks have been adapted so that you can use a switch for activation.

Apple iPod Touch 32 GB (4th Generation)

April 18, 2017 By Guam CEDDERS

iPod touch (fourth generation) is an accessible portable media player that plays audio and video content. The large multi-touch screen is made accessible to people who are blind or vision impaired by VoiceOver, a gesture-based screen reader that enables you to control iPod touch with simple gestures and describes the item that is under your finger. It also has a white on black option for higher contrast and adjustable brightness. There is a mono audio option for people who are hearing impaired, and support for captioned video. It has two cameras — a front-mounted camera designed to be used for video conferencing in conjunction with Apple’s provided “FaceTime” software. By running various applications, the iPod assitive touch becomes a tool with virtually limitless solution!

Apple iPod Touch 32 GB (3rd Generation)

April 18, 2017 By Guam CEDDERS

The iPod touch is set up and synchronised using iTunes (which is accessible with VoiceOver on the Mac, JAWS version 10 and Window Eyes version 7, plus earlier versions of JAWS with j-Tunes). The user can choose between Voiceover (screen reader) and Zoom (magnifier), although both can’t be run at once due to them using different gestures. Both applications change the traditional gesture system used on the iPod to make it usable by people with vision impairment.
